Santa ~ Felt ~ Run amiga

This past Thursday Santa found Samia's school with his GPS she was so hype over sitting in his lap, I think I have hear the story a million times.  He said that he was making a list, that he liked her dress, that she has to be a good girl etc etc etc.

That Thursday morning she was worry that Santa was not going to be able to sit in her chair so she was worry where he was going to sit.  When we made it to the drop lane and one of the teachers open the door to get her out...the first thing she said was "Where is Santa going to sit?"

Lately I being working with felt none stop I am working in a big Christmas gift for the girls I will venture to say that I am about 80% done it has being many sleepless nights and allot of drawing something that had always being afraid of but I am getting more comfortable at it.  While at it I decided to make little felt book for a present.  Samia loves to play with hers but I had never done the ocean or the sky I think I will make one for her, since she is in love with the animals that live in the ocean.

Tomorrow is suppose to be a cold day and if it would not be that Gamila breaks out in Eczema when is cold we would be screaming

GO BONNIE A LA BIO A LA BAO BINBOMBA BONNIE BONNIE RRA RRA!

My good friend Bonnie is running her first half marathon...oh I so wish I would not be pregnant I don't think I could do a marathon that is unless she agrees to push me after a while, but I am hoping once I give birth we could do a 5K with me...I am a jogger not a runner like her.

Suerte amiga y corrre!

Feliz Navidad 2008

For all of those that did not receive a Christmas card here it is

The night went perfect although Gamila was sick Samia was able to enjoy her night. Very early on she started telling me Santa needed a flashlight since she knew that he would past when it was dark so she could open the presents.

Then she came with the idea that he was going to call her to tell her hello, she drove baba and mami crazy with that idea, so baba had to go outside to make some phone calls (hint hint hint), when all of a sudden the phone rings is Santa it goes like this.

Samia: HI SANTA YOU MY FRIEND

Santa: HOHOHOHO

Samia: YOU BRING ME PRESENTS

Santa: (Speechless)

Samia: I LOVE YOU SANTA BYE BYE

After this I have a running princess happy and wanting to call Abu, to tell her Santa call also when she saw baba she could not stop telling him and is so funny she gets so excited she startles. Finally somebody in Miami pick up the phone her lucky tio Cesar so once again she got to talk about her conversation with Santa and the lucky one was her tio Cesar.

While all of these is going on she is opening the balcony door and screaming out of the top of lungs.

SANTA SANTA SANTA SANTA....It was so hard for her to keep her calm here she is trying to open the presents way way before we could open them up

Before sitting down for dinner mami decided to take a few shots of them around the tree, since I knew in a few minutes there would paper all over the place.

And here she is picking again while mami was getting the table ready

Poor Gamila while all of these was going on she was just to sick to be part of the action she only wanted to be in mami's arms.

So baba told Samia santa has just pass in his carriage and she could open the present. There are no words to explain her facial expression, the happiness, the desired to play with that kitchen, I have to admit after she open her kitchen it was hard for her to understand that there were more presents she just wanted LA COCINA.

I could tell she was so happy while she was opening all those presents some of her phrases were:

"IS AMAZING"

"WONDERFUL"

"SO MANY PRESENTS"

"SANTA PAINT MY CHAIR"

"THANK YOU SANTA"

After putting Gamila to sleep baba and mami decided to build the kitchen we tried to put Samia to sleep but it was impossible she did not want to go to sleep till she got to play with that kitchen. Samia you were so happy with your kitchen that you even pipi while making mami some late night coffee.

Nenas overall it was a beautiful night we enjoy each other, we laugh, we scream, we cried but most important of all we were together. We remember the ones that could not be with us, but we know how much we love them and how much they loved us and Inshallah we will be together next time.

El Nino Dios and Santa have a plan! Ginger Bread Home

So lately I have being debating and truly is only mami the one debating since baba celebrates Christmas because of us, is not something he grew up with. Although I have to admit he is very good with all the festivities and the preparing he is my chef partner to prepare all my Colombian dishes for that day.

So I grew up believing en el Nino Dios. In Colombia there is not such a day as Christmas day that day is to lounge at home recuperating from the night before. I celebrate Christmas Eve marking the birth of Jesus. From the day I can remember we always stayed up till midnight to open all of the presents under the tree that el Nino DIos have brought for us. When we moved to the states I was older and still believe in el Nino Dios but Santa took over El Nino Dios.

The last couple of Christmas Samia has stayed awake with us till midnight....however she was not so aware of what is going on. This year Samia believes in Santa and that he is going to bring her many presents and so forth..so I have being breaking my head deciding how to do this. I have all the presents that Santa has left for us in the the guest bathroom which nobody uses.

So today I decided we were going to make Santa some little gifts and Samia was so much into it she loves to glue so we made a few Christmas ornaments for the tree and we hang them in the tree I told her that Santa is very busy and he has started to drop of gifts and every night he would come and take one of the gifts she did for him and he would start leaving gifts but we she can not open them till El Nino Dios says it is okey.

Here is Samiuta doing her ornaments
Here she is hanging the ornaments she made

I wonder why make up all of these stories, but then I tell myself they are children and are allow to believe and live childhood...

I have also decided that the ornaments that she made as gifts for Santa would be giving to Abuela so she can put in her tree and I know if I give them to Zetu and Guido they would hang them all over the house, like they do with their pictures. Mashallah for such a beautiful family, although I have to admit I being kind of nostalgic lately I miss my Amira. and till this day I just can not believe that she is not around. Que picara es la vida a veces con nosotros nos tira jugadas que nunca nos hubieramos imaginado.
Wahashtiny Habibi!!!\

Gracias, Shookran, Thanks for Sharing!

So yesterday we had a day full of fun things we have to Thank God for all of this fun I think more for giving us the chance to enjoy our friends and family while doing a good deed for others.
In the morning we went to Grady's house and yes that is little Grady but Miss. Samia does not count the mommies she only refers to her friends, we met to get the gifts ready for next week since we are visiting a nursery. Samia I should mention you turn out to be a little Picasso you took care of the art department.

Nenas mami has a very hard time understanding why someone would put their parents in a nursing home??? I mean if you can afford a nursing home why not keep them with you at home and maybe have a nurse or aide come and give you a hand while the children work. I guess is a controversial subject but nenas always remember in baba's and mami's culture this is not something we do. Abuelos or Parents should always be taken care of no matter how old, how sick or how much work they are.

Okey Gamila when are you going to WALK yes WALK??????? Here you look like a little bad boy, I have to go and get you earrings...I know Gamila mami is being lazy but we really need them you look like a boy. Funny last night baba and mami were watching TV and they showed this girl with beautiful eyes and eyelashes and beautiful make up I tell baba if Mio was here she was going to teach you to put Kohl I guess that would be Zetu's job now since mami has no idea how to put make up on.

You know nenas looks are not important is what is inside but at the age the two of you are at I have to tell you what melts my heart every time I see my princesas.
SAMIA I will start with you:
Cheeks, Smile, Dimples, Hair, Eyebrows
GAMILA:
Eyes, Eyelashes, Eyebrows, Hair
But most important of all the love and joy I feel when I am laying between the two of you, well that is when I can wrestle Milo to stay still for 1 minute.
So we waited for baba to go and see Santa Claus, he was going to be at a park close to home it was so much fun.. They had a stage where Santa was seating next to Mrs. Claus, Samia you were not to interested in climbing up there, you were more interested in having your face painted
Milo you were just sitting in your stroller seeing how your sister had lots of fun.
Roasting marshmallow
Candy hunt, to tell you the truth I never though you were going to understand the candy hunt but boy was I wrong you were a champion you got on the line
you waited for the man to give the instructions and when it was time to run in the field looking for the candy
off you went:
....Bravo Samia then you had to run and show baba everything you had collected
you did it! you collected candy canes, chocolate, lolly pops and many more candy.
So when we came home you were still showing me your face painting and you will not let me take them off. So you slept with them and to prove that here you are in the morning with your faithful companion that makes you company every morning in the bathroom

Arbol de navidad

El Arbol de Navidad has arrived HO HO HO! Yesterday Baba and Mami took advantage that Abuela is here and we went to see the house in progress, I am so happy we are starting to see the maqueta being set up. Then we went to do some little Christmas shopping mainly for decoration and then El Arbol de Navidad.

When we came home I never though in 100 years that Samia was going to enjoy doing El Arbol so much, she just wanted more and more ornaments to be hang, we were all laughing saying how next year we need a bigger tree to be able to hang all of the ornaments.

Samia was all over the place screaming Feliz Navidad, Merry Christmas, Santa Claus, the best part of the night was when Gamila went to touch El Arbol and she push Gamila to the side. In her 2 year old mentality nobody is allow to touch El Arbol only her and mami.

I see it as a good sign she takes care of what she builds, because she did help us from the beginning, fixing the stand, putting the lights, to the ornament hanging to putting water in the stand.

It makes me so happy to see how she has develop and is amazing to see so many changes, I really think that only at this small age is when you see so many drastic changes every holiday. Last year she did not even know who was Santa. Masha Allah!

Last night Abuela wrap up the gifts that Santa left on our house. Nenas Santa has to make so many deliveries that he starts his delivery process early in December, oh nenas and yes if you are good girls, sisters, friends, daughters he would come and make a special delivery Christmas Day. Que vaina con este Papa Noel que senor mas ocupado!
