Vacation

We are back!!  Missed not fishing today but back to reality.  Last week we went for a few days of sun, beach and fishing we all had a great time can not complain.  We all got to do a little of what we love, the girls love the beach playing with the sand and the ocean, the sea was rough and choppy but my surprise they were fearless specially Samia.

 Samia we have always take you to the beach since you were like 6 months, mami loves the water although baba was raised in a city by the Mediterranean sea he is not much of a beach goer this days, but for his nenes I guess he takes it.  Gamila you played scared like usually and then start enjoying it, not sure why you have this charming personality of playing hard ad the beginning and then enjoying the fun.

Mami and baba along with Guido went fishing on a boat on Monday it was so awesome we first were by the bay and starting fishing we catch some sheepheads, blues and drums.  Afterwards we went out further on the sea, although the sea was so choppy we could barely stand and we got to fish pompano it was amazing I just love fishing and now baba loves it as much as I do.  Is one of those hobbies we have to do together I have told him to go alone many times with friends and he would always say  no that is our thing like he says.  Nenes Inshallah when all of you get older we can all go fishing and make it a family fun thing to do.

Guido and Zetu had lots of fun as well Amir since you are still so small we just took you to the park, Zetu spend most of the time with you in the cabin, on the other hand nenas you guys enjoy the beach and the pier as well as the park with us many times.

Samia you had your first experiences fishing this past week, you are still little but you like it. 

Action animals, beach, fish!!!!

This week was is a busy one and fun one. I took the girls to the zoo in New Orleans is a nice zoo it remind me of the one in Alexandria Egypt with more vegetation but is very pretty it was a shame it was so hot but the girls had a nice time. Gamila you walked allot and love being in your own. Samia you know so much about animals is when we go places like this that I realize how much are learning.

On Wednesday was baba's days off so we decided to take a drive to Grand Isle, we had heard so many things about it for fishing. The drive was long and tedious lots and lots of shrimp boats no wonder Louisiana is the biggest producer of shrimp in the USA. Once we got to the island we did not like the place very commercial looking and we were amazed how dirty the beach is but is not that the place is ugly but people don't take care of it. We found Clorox jars, garbage etc. IS sad how is not taken care of when the place has so many potential.


Samia you had a blast fishing in your wonderful mind you were doing great with your princess fishing rod, nena you are the sweetest kindest girl I have ever come across I thank God everyday for that incredible demeanor you have.

Gamila you are allot like me very determine and a bit stubborn I have to admit it teaching you correcting you is a whole different ball game from Samia I have to be more stern with you. When we were at the beach you decided you did not want to walk anymore and stayed in the middle with your head tilted to the side and that mean look that you give and did not move till baba had to walk back to get you.

After dropping the girls home baba and mami were ready for some adult fun so we drove to Alabama for the night and fish the whole night and then drove back, I know nenas you must think we are insane but always remember sometimes we have to do things out of the norm this way we feel we are alive and stay young. Baba and mami enjoyed their date fishing and just enjoying each others company doing something we both enjoy. While we were gone Samia you had a little accident at home because being a monkey, I had already told you so many times not to jump from the recliner to the sofa, is not acceptable who said the couch was a trampoline. I guess after the big wawa you will never do it again.

So I will continue with our journey camping the days were full of walking, playing in the swing sets, cooking in our primitive ways, walking in the beach playing with the girls baba did some fishing but caught 0 fish, Malish baba, listening to the coyotes in the middle of the night, and also the beautiful splashing sound of the waves in the early hours of the morning.

Oh Samia you had your first experience fishing and like the girly girl you are had a bit of drama with your princess fishing rod.

The trip was everything we wish for, just the four of us no distractions no tv or computer at night family time Inshallah nenas we can keep doing this the years to come, here are more random pictures.

So we are back home. I think it would take me two days or maybe 3 days to post our mini adventure...
4 days full of

deers
coyotes
clear skies
birds
sand
wild rabbits
woodpeckers bird
owls
fish
cold wind
Eczema
etc etc etc fun fun fun

So we left on Wednesday not really knowing where we were going we had a car full of things blankets, tent, stove, food etc two little nenas, baba and mami with a map.

The day was very cold and we were pushing to find the place to camp although half way the trip we had decided that maybe we would sleep in a hotel. We drove for about 6 hours and made it to St. Andrew Park

This were some of the first views that we would be having for the next couple of days...not sure on what to do baba and mami decided to go and set up camp then go to eat and depending how the weather would be we will decided where we were going to take a night rest..(not sure if it was irresponsible of us with 2 little children and not even sure where we were going to sleep) but it was vacation and it was fun.

When we first enter the camp the first thing we came across was a couple of deers...Samia got so excited and so did we. It was cold so we kept the girls in the car watching Barney (Gamila you are hypnotize by the dino..Samia today when we were driving back I told you my story with Barney would write it some other time) Baba and Mami set up the tent in about 45 minutes mami read the directions and we did team work. Nenas you guys loved the tent it is huge inside after having 2 twin mattresses 3 plastic totes and many other things you guys had a place to run and jump oh we even have a dog dome which is more like the hide and seek area. Nenas if you guys love the tent mami love what baba paid for it from 100 dollars we paid 20.

When I lived in New York I used to go camping to the Adirondacks which is in the woods I used to go with a family the father was very organize and I remember he used to take plastic totes for everything he assigned them clothes, kitchen etc. Now having girls I though that was good idea and it work great. So we set up, left everything ready in case we would spend the night there I even bundle the girls up. Then we decided to head to the town and find something to eat and decide the sleeping quarters.

We decided to stay in a hotel for the night the place is very nice is a Holiday Day Inn that in the summer must be a blast. The view from the room was to die for but in my case I only look at it from the windows I am afraid of heights but nenas by now you know this...baba had a blast taking pictures outside of the beach the birds and I enjoy taking pictures of las nenas INSIDE .

Thursday the adventure really started and happy that we slept in a nice place they said the temperatures had gone down to the teens...we were back in our campsite for breakfast baba made us delicious scramble eggs and foul (Egyptian beans) and pita bread and mami made a nice Cuban coffee. ( I know nenas in the middle of nowhere mami and baba have to have foul and coffee).
