New Year!

So finally the birthday festivities are over..
Today we had her birthday party many of her friends came over and it was a very pleasant morning..I was good I was not picking up after every single paper plate or paper cup I saw...I control myself..I was a bit preoccupied over the space but my apartment proved to hold very well the crowd.

We finally got to cut the much much worked Wow, Wow, Wubbzy cake The process was a long one but so worth it.
Here are few pics of the birthday party:
Here are all the kids that came over of course Ms. Gamila had to do one of her shows!!! Sorry Samia your sissy was having a difficult day.

I am not sure if is me or most of the moms out there but when you have small children we go by our children faces we know what is coming next just by at the facial expression.

While going thru the pictures today of the party I came across your two faces the ones that you use all the time and I love them...especially the one that makes your two dimples stand out.

Samia with this I close this year and I embrace the following year with open arms and an open mind to raise you to best of my knowledge, I only ask papito Dios (God) to guide me the right way and to help me be a better person so I can be a better mami.

Sweet and Sour Weekend

So the weekend was a sweet and sour, I guess I should start by the sweet.

That would be the Animal Fun we had at the party I had a Cowgirl sheriff and a Flower pink girl Saturday was the much anticipated birthday party of Addison her mom had the savvy idea of making it in a farm and it was great. Samia wanted to wear her attire since early on the morning, I took out her attire and place it in top of her bed a couple of hours later this is what I found
I have also being teaching her we do letters for baba and mami and Gamila so now she decided that she wanted to make a birthday card for her friend Addison and here is her end result. Finally we went to the party and mami went crazy taking pictures, I would love to be able to post of them here but I have to choose and is hard to believe how difficult this task is is ridiculous.
Really there is not much to say only that the girls had a blast and so did I, just enjoy the pictures.
For some reason Gamila loves crossing her arms and I LOVE IT!!!
Now my not so sweet story...Siwa is no longer with us we gave her away to a very nice family where she is going to have a yard to run and get all of that energy out, and not knowing where we are going next is hard for us to keep her. So Inshallah they would take care of her. The truth baba is sad but me not really and Samia and Gamila have not even notice that she is gone.
Also baba left today for 10 days so I was thinking what can we give him that he would be close to us at all times, and I decided to make hand prints so at night or in the morning he can place his hand over our hand prints. The process of making this hand prints was a funny one, Samia decided to make two hand prints, Gamila did not want her hand full of pain mami loved it.
We had Chinese on Valentine day's and baba open two of the fortune cookies (nenas hide those cookies he always eats them) and here is the fortune

Valentine party facts.

So today we went to the valentines party organize by our mommy group because of the unpredictable weather we had to change our location and then the fiasco started. The worry about the price of having fun, how much food we were taking, what crafts we would do, who would cancel at the last moment and the list can go on and on, but the bottom line the kids had fun and we always say as longest they have fun we are okey.

Looking back at the message board just that post about the Valentine Party has over 90 entries all about organizing the Gala for the toddlers, is just hilarious. I think the Social organizer for the White House could learn from us. There was a very brave daddy that did not mind being surrounded by all of progesterone in that room, spending time with his two princess was more important.

Samia and Gamila you too enjoyed it and mami did as well TODAY I overcame the fear of getting inside and inflatable jumpy house, I was always afraid that first I did not fit and people were going to have to look at my behind for hours while they came up with a plan to take me out, or my other fear what if I can come in but not come out..but today my good friend Stacy inspired me and I JUMP and JUMP and JUMP till I got tired.

Oh Samia for the very first time you went up the big slide all by yourself I am very proud of you chiquita mia.

So after seeing all the mami's having their kids dress up with Valentine clothing made me feel bad. Am I to plain should I put more emphasize in this celebration with my daughters, but the truth even at home we don't really celebrate I see it as a day of lovers. To top it off when we came home and I open the goody bags and found all the beautiful cards her little friends had given them and the bags with treats I was getting worst and to really top it off the package from ABUELA that one kill me she had send them cards and made them clothes. And me the mami nothing....uhmmm I guess I do have till tomorrow so nenas I am trying to come up with a tradition for Valentines I don't want to make it an spending one maybe I just have Samia and Gamila just paint and paint hearts in different pieces of paper so baba can take with him while he is gone, maybe one for everyday he is gone.

Oh nenas mami also found out yesterday that Juanita mention her in her blog I had no idea blogging was so much fun and you would make so many friends here without making any effort is like a chain reaction.

The Perks of being Elashry=Eid,Christmas,Ramadan,Los Reyes Magos

So once again the girls get to wear new clothes Eid is here..yes yes yes...not only do they do Ramadan, Eid, and Christmas oh and I forgot King days o los Reyes Magos wow wow.
So today we celebrated Eid I just make a mini party. Usually in Eid you take the kids out to play and it worked perfect because one of friends was having his birthday at CEC so Samia and Gamila were able to have some fun with their friends.
If we were in Egypt most likely Guido would buy the 7arufa and have it slaughter and then donate most of the meat to the poor, here at home I will cook Fattah for us and a nice cake, so baba can feel a little bit of the Eid spirit. This are the hard things of an immigrant having to spend the holidays far away from the family and country. Nenas that is why I always emphasise be thankful for everything.

It was so funny baba had not being feeling well but around 4 he took a shower and put on his Egyptian shirt it was so funny to see him come out making all of this sounds with all the treats we had gotten at the party earlier he was making so much noise and he enjoyed the food and the cake. Needless to say Gamila and Samia were in heaven and as far as me I love seeing them enjoying their time with baba on Eid
