Recipes

So girls like I have done in other post I have being writing recipes here are a few more. I being incline to do a blog just for recipes since I get to cook some Colombian food and baba is into the Egyptian food, but I figure that should be your homework later on in life to make just one site for recipes.
Oh girls I should tell you to make the arabic plates always make sure you used the egyptian butter wich is really pure butter.

Sobiet maalie Fried Calamari
  • Buy the sobiet just the white part not the purple cover if you can not find the white part make sure you take out that purple cover.
  • Wash it by pressing with your hands the water out.
  • Then wash it again but this time with flour, again press the flour onto the sobiet and rinse it again.
  • Wash it one more time with salt again pressing the salt and then once again rinse it out with water.
  • After you have taken most of the water out, cut it like finger size and put it on the side.
  • Then mix cumin, tom tom (garlic), black pepper, salt and little lemon.
  • Then mix the sobiet with this mixture and let it stand for about 2 to 3 hours.
  • Then take flour spread it out in a plate and just press the sobiet on each side on the flour.
  • In the mean while put sunflower oil to heat up make it very high then bring the fire to med-low and put the sobiet inside.
  • Once the sobiet is frying increase the fire to high and cover.
  • Let it fry till it is done.
  • Once is done take out and girls always put a paper towel in the bottom of the plate to let the oil drip, once they are out make sure you cover it with a plate or lid to keep them soft (this is a trick of suzzu)

Batates Mehamara (potatoes in butter)

  • Get the batates wash them and then boil them with some salt, once you can put the knife and it goes thru but it does not fall apart they are ready.
  • Take them out peel the skin and cut them horizontal.
  • Then put some of the pure butter in a sarten (spanish not sure how in english) and just put the batates in the butter and let them get gold then flip to the other side.
  • The same put in a plate with paper to let the butter drip.
  • Baba loves putting eggs on them so here is how you will do them.
  • Do the batates the same way however on the side get some eggs on a dish put salt, black pepper and mix them, once the batates are in the sarten pour the eggs and with a fork mix them.

Roman Juice (Pomegranate juice)

  • Buy the Roman open it up take all the little pieces and put them in a glass jar.
  • Mix some sugars with the seeds and let it stand in the refrigerator for one day, so the roman get sweet.
  • The following day just mix all of these in the blender and you will have a delicious juice.
