One more day!

So my kitchen is full of strawberries there is just no way we could eat them all so why not make some marmalade, jelly or jam...

I got all my ingredients together however the amount of sugar it asks for makes you not want to eat jam or jelly ever again. I was about to change the recipe and not put so much sugar but then I read if you don't use the right quantities most likely it would not set correctly...so pushing my arm I pour the 4 CUPS of sugar it asked for. Agggghhh it still hurts me.

I opted for doing the fast version no need of cooking the fruits.


I took the strawberries and put them in the blender to make 2 cups

Mix with 4 CUPS of sugar mix it and then let it sit for 10 minutes

On the side prepare the pectin follow the box instructions

After the pectin is done mix the two mixtures and stir for about 3 minutes till all the sugar is dissolve then put in your Plastic containers.

Samia also while I was getting ready to make breakfast you mention mami where is my surprise, meaning where is my decorated breakfast...I am spoiling you nenas! Today I made flowers consisting of eggs, strawberries, cheese and olives.

Staying home with the two and not going out requires allot of activities to keep you guys busy and away from the TV so after our lunch I decided to the a special way of painting this way Gamila could paint and not be worry she is going to eat the paint...plus the paint actually taste delicious I use Condense Milk with food coloring to do paintings. The girls did not know they could not eat the paint it was very funny seeing how they painted and painted and all of a sudden Gamila decides to put her finger in her mouth and Wallah she discover how good it taste after that she painted inside her mouth. Samia it took you awhile to figure it out but after wards you did two strokes in your mouth and one on the paper.

I will definitely be trying this more often it was so worth it.

Nenas I can imagine how much fun you guys would have when you see this video.

Oh Samia today you gave me a scared not sure why you did it..well I should not say that you did tell me why. After having dinner I went to wash the dishes and made the mistake which is really not a mistake because I always do it of leaving Gamila in her booster chair. All of a sudden I hear a PAW!!! when I see Samia running towards the room and Gamila crying ~ surely enough Samia pushed the chair and Gamila fell straped to the booster chair. I grab GAmila all worry about her head and when I went to grab Samia she starts crying.. So I grabbed her and asked her

"Callate y dime que paso" (Be quiet and tell me what happen)
Samia tells me "I push her"
Mami - Why?
Samia - Because I miss daddy!!!

At this point I just pick her up and kiss her and told her she could not do that again.
I think she is playing a manipulation game I do know baba has not being around lately but what a lame excuse....Samia eres la patada enana mia!


Nenas on a complete different note the Swine Flu is spreading fast a very scary thing no need to write how scary it is just judge by the pictures how Mexico City has being paralyzed

This two ladies were praying at a Zocalo on Monday morning look how empty the plaza is compare to this other shot taking some other time in the same place. Inshallah this can be contain soon, this way the death toll does not keep on rising, and we all have to be careful we can not be walking with the mentality that it could not happen to us..always remember we are just like any other human being!

Food, sleep, paint just Elashry Casa

Today we stayed indoors after being out yesterday chasing ladybugs and tomorrow hopefully picking some strawberries it was only fair for mami to enjoy her air conditioner. Baba had to work that is not fun but what can we do that is the retail world work on weekends.

Today I was a bit creative for breakfast hoping Gamila eats she is a little harder to feed than my Samia so mami created a girl in a flower garden:

To my delight they eat it all Allhomdulliallah!
Samia had some fun painting at home we did some potato stamps and then she painted with her hands.

Oh I also had to show this a couple of weeks back baba got me this spice holder not sure how to call it. Is made out of wood and I know it is from India and I just love it I put all of my cooking spices the ones that I use more often like Salt, pepper, Cumin and my Bokharat or also called Seven spice mixture

Here I go with my disorganize out of order thoughts just trying to catch up, So Milo as you already know we are always complaining about your hair..mami things it is tooo messy baba is always brushing it and brushing it to make it straight just like Zetu does when she is with you. Baba bath them last night and took a chance to brush your hair and this is what I found


Baba is worry about the hair and not the runny nose it figures his obsession with straight hair.

The other day Samia helped me cook this delicious pasta I took from the Martha Stewart site..I love the recipe fast, healthy and I could used all of my herbs from the garden, Samia enjoyed helping me cut them and washing them.



Samia you have become a big helper for mami, well that is when you want to cooperate, but something I have started to notice is that you give it your all and that is something that I love, nenas always remember when we do things they have to be 100% even if the outcome is not perfect we know we gave our best. This way you would not feel any kind of remorse that it did not come out right because you did not give it your all..remember nenas life is a trial an error journey.

Nenas baba has being working alot since he is having to commute almost 2 hours each way, but even like this he finds time to spend with you guys even if that means that he falls asleep while he read you guys a book. Nenas always remember baba has worked very hard so mami can stay home with you two. Gracias pollito!!!

And to finalize nenas there is a world health scared there is a type of influenza called Swine flu, apparently it all started in Mexico but now it has travel up the USA and as of today there were some cases already reported in Canada. Inshallah it gets under control soon..is sad but usually when things like this happen in third world countries the death toll rises rapidly. Hopefully it does not get out of hand, so you guys would not have to read about it one day in your school books as one of the epidemic of the 21st century

Multi, Multi Things

Today was a fun day still a bit sick now is Gamila the terrible cough I think that after dark cloud full of coughs, mocos, germs, and all of that yucky stuff is gone Mami is going to do the happy dance (What is the happy dance not sure, but I will come up with it)

Today I went to do some shopping to get the rest of the stuff we needed. I bought Crystal a guitar of Hanna Montana however Miss Samia was holding the box so long and playing with it that she just broke our heat and I could not resist and open it for her she loved it I think she played with that guitar for about 4 hours. Oh Abuela bought her a crowd set with ring, earrings and necklace she even had mami wearing it. Oh I should mention the mameluco she is wearing mami made it for her after a long night of taking it apart till I finally figure it out. We were all so impress of my mameluco and she loved it.

Abuela and Mami enjoy the princess to the fullest today!!

A little under the weather!

So this last couple of days we being a bit sick first Samia with a terrible cough, fever and all of those nice things that the change of weather brings...poor Abuela is sick as well, coming from Miami to South Carolina for the wedding really got her sick. Gamila is doing good however today she started to cough so hopefully with a good nights rest she can out run the sickness. Mami has a little combo from everything that everybody has cough, at times fever etc etc etc...oh and Baba he is being working so so much he has not time to catch up with any of the germs of the house....Thank God.

Yesterday finally mami was able to finish the orange with almonds cake...the outcome was good BAba loves it since he loves almonds, Gamila like it as well, mami, abuela and Samia were not to thrill about it. However to finish the cake we have to do some garbage digging someone threw the newspaper away, and I confess it must had being me I love throwing things away.

Yesterday Abuela helped mami fix the girls room and make room for the Christmas toys, we are back to only one crib in the house it surely feels weird seeing only one crib, it feels like yesterday the three of us were fixing the room for Gamila's arrival (nenas I take this chance to tell you to live life to the fullest cherish every single special moment like planting a tree, building a toy, reading a book, taking a road side trip, going to the zoo etc).

Abuela and mami have also being doing a share of sewing and trying to understands this patterns oh Gosh I will not even get into it, they have me pulling my hair hasta me he puesto la panoleta de la berraquera que me dan esos patrones como abuela los llama que vaina mas enrredadas o seran estos gringos los que me enrredan con esas instruciones...el otro dia comentaba con Abuela cuando las nenas esten grandes y yo haga un comentario asi las nenas me van a decir MAmi nosotros somos americanas, el dia que eso ocurra me voy a morir de la risa...
