Animals, colors and circles

We finally finish the nursery after many weeks of trying to put together the truth is that everybody around me help me.  The idea came little by little Abuela help me picking the bedding with baba afterwards I decided to add the hoops.  My friend Bonnie help me decorate them and add the appliques.  My sister in law help me cutting the circles for the curtains and Bonnie once again help me sewing them.

Everything else just came little by little I did not want to spend lots of money on it since I like to change the baby's room usually when they become one year old.  Another thing that had me a little worry was that I did not want to get rid of my queen bed since we have Abuela coming and staying with us follow by Guido and Zetu and I like having the extra big bed in case one of the kids get sick and I have to go and sleep  with the.

Also the room is not that big so I was afraid that if I put too much color it would make the room look much smaller so I used a white base and just add color here and there.  I am so happy with the end result, baba is in love with it, he helped me so much the truth is that he hang everything and design where everything was going to be place usually I make and he designs after all he does have a degree in art and sculpture.

Now we are just waiting for the little man to arrive.

On another note today we celebrated valentines day Abuela made the girls this nice dresses they love them and so did I.  We bake cookies and then I made  a tea party for them they love that, and I love seeing them enjoying the cookies they help me make.  Nenas you spend the whole day kissing each other because it was valentines always remember is not only one special day we should take to tell your sister or brother how much you love them.

Baby today when we finish your room I can not explain what I felt is like soon I will have you in my arms my little man the one that one day Inshallah  would take care of me, hold my hand when I am old.  Thank you God for giving me the chance of having a boy.

3 weeks left

Hard to believe that in about 3 weeks this huge bump would be gone and in my arms.

Needless to say I feel huge I had never feel so big not with Samia nor with Gamila, everything hurts even to sit...Thank God for Jennifer she has being so much help she would be leaving on Wednesday I still have one whole week alone before Abuela comes not sure how I am going to do it, but I know I will find a way.  It is painful to walk I have so much pelvic pain is ridiculous, but apparently is very normal also because of this being my 3rd pregnancy.

The girls have being playing lots with Charlie I can tell he is more comfortable with SAmia she talks to him and sings to him, while Gamila just likes to stick her face in front of his face kiss him and today I found her sticking a button in his mouth yes very dangerous one more reason why the baby is going to be very very far from her.

Here are a few pictures of the last couple of days around the house.

This was not my idea we found this in a gift shop and Jennifer decided to put in her head and boy did she love it.

Gamila you let Charlie use your chair once in a while and once he is out she go and sit on it right away my territorial girl.

I just love this picture he looks more than precious I actually did this little shirt for him today, I know is not going to last him long but at least he could wear it.

My big girl...funny but I never wear dresses and today when she saw me with this dress the only thing that came out of her mouth was "wow mami you look beautiful"  What can I say this is the sweetest kid I have ever met.

One month left

So the countdown has started in about a month the baby would be with us...we all are so excited..baba is beyond himself he is already making plans with his boy, I never knew how much he wanted a boy....Gamila is always talking to the baby...mami is tired, not much sleep etc etc all the things that come in the last couple of weeks....and Samia does not stop asking when the baby would be born so she can feed him and dress him... because of this we made this chain so every day she can take a link off till the day that the baby makes it into this world Inshallah.

I have not being doing much lately finish a few shirts and a hat along with some booties, my friend Bonnie also had a great idea to make   changing pad with packets to put wipes, cream and pampers this way I can keep it within reach of the girls and they can pass it to me when we need a pamper change..I love the idea and the bib she made me as well.

I am also working in the nursery we have everything just need to hang it and finish it up...I also have being working on the kids bathroom would get this done this week as well.

I know tio Cesar is coming for the baby's birth I am so excited he is always so peaceful and is a pleasure having him around plus I know las nenas would love to be around him.

Abuela should also be arriving in the next couple of weeks she would stay with me a month.

Guido and Zetu are also coming at the end of March...I just love how a baby can bring so many family together like they say the birth of a baby is a blessing.

Jennifer is also coming to visit us with Charlie  this week I am so excited to see him he is gotten so big and cute and I know it would be a good learnign experience for las nenas to be around a baby.

A little of everything

Yesterday we had a Dr.'s appointment the baby is about 5 pounds 4 ounces so is in schedule, we had a little scared apparently his heart was beating too fast, well it turn out that every time the Dr. would listen to the heartbeat our little man was having a blast...so they hook me up to the baby monitor for about 30 minutes but thank God everything was fine he was just very active going up and down.

Today was my turn to go to Samia's school and talk about Colombia she was so excited to see me and have all of her friends hear me talk about Colombia.  It was so much fun telling them about my country and having Samia look at me and even stand next to me when I sang for them in Spanish.  When I first arrived to the school Samia's class was learning her letters I have seen allot of improvement.

On Tuesdays we have ballet Samia you love it and Gamila you love it as well even though you don't take classes you insist in wearing tights and this last time you insisted on wearing ballet shoes they keep a basket with spare shoes and surely enough you make a run for the basket and bring me a shoe 3 times your size and another show 6 times your size.

Who said baba does not have a sense of humor????? Lately he loves either letting his beard grow then he cuts it short or he shaves his head always something new and today this was his new look...I beg him to take it off but Samia loves it she spend the rest of the night touching it...I know it would be gone in a couple of days but he looks so funny.

From Drop Box
Today Egypt and Alegeria had a soccer match for the African World cup, this match was much anticipated since when the qualifications for the world cup of 2010 were going on Egypt beat Algeria once but in a second game they got eliminated by Algeria.  So Egypt was very upset about this but when the chance came to played them again they made sure to kick their butt and surely they did 4-0 we had a party at home maybe not like in Egypt with camels and fireworks.  LAs nenas loved watching the TV and seeing how they were celebrating in Egypt.

Baby you get a check up almost daily if is not the Dr.'s is Samia rubbing my belly talking to you or tickling you, if not is baba rubbing talking to you...and if not is Gamila with her medical gear checking you.  She makes me lift my shirt up and then after she checks me out she says something like " Baby is okey"

Recap

Can not lie even though I being a bit uncomfortable because of my size I have enjoyed the last couple of days.

On Wednesday baba went out of town so I was left alone we decided to go and have a sleepover at Bonnie's the girls were so happy about it specially Samia since on Thursday Samia had to wear her pajamas to school. I did not believe her since I have never done that in my life she kept on telling me and I kept on telling her no Samia you don't go out in your pajamas. She was so persistant that at a point I figure she was right so I called the school just to double check and surely enough everybody wears they pj's to school...WOW I was amazed but the truth I love it, I wish we would had that when I was growing up.

After school we headed over our friends house we had so much fun the girls slept together and loved it. On the other hand we sew a little crochet and just had fun talking up to late, it actually reminded me of when I was younger and would stay up to late talking to my friends when they would come over to sleep. For some reason Abuela never allow me to sleep overs others house.

Also on Thursday I visited the Dr. everything is on schedule I have even lost weight not sure how it happens but I think that with las nenas I am always moving around so really no way to stack up the weight. We have tentative schedule the birth for the 3/3/2010 (the only thing I being able to come up with the numbers is that is divisable by 3 and maybe born 3rd month on the 3rd day but that is about it....mami and her numbers)

I have also being sewing a bit and crocheting I was able to finish some sets of napkins for the house we love using the fabric ones the girls enjoy fixing the table, and by me making them we get to pick the colors we like. The baby also got some new onesies I did a bit applique nothing fancy just enough to splash the whites with some kind of color. I was also able to finish some booties with a little hat, I have to admit I love crocheting. Actually Bonnie tried to teach me to knit and I could not get the hang of it.

Samia lately we have being talking allot you and me and I have notice how much new things you know now. Is amazing how fast your mind is developing, for instance when we read to you at night you know must of the books by memory already, just by flipping the page you can say it out loud. I don't think you recognize the words you just know the whole page. You know how to write your name and spell it, you also know the whole alphabet and I notice you can count all the way to 50. I am not to strict with the teaching I figure everything comes at the time it has to come so little by little. I have also notice you are understanding more and more the languages and sometimes even venture to speak it.

Milo on the other hand you are so talkative you have finally overcome that stage you had of not being too verbal, however is hard to understand you at time but you get your point across. Your attitude has improve tremendously not sure if it that you fear the chancla or you are just growing up, however I do see allot of baby stuff in you.

Hidding tricks

This last couple of days have being very productive and spend in great company we started Friday by having some friends over the girls always have a blast together.  Samia you and Alexandra play now with no problem the truth is that you too get along very well we have also started to incorporate some learning activities every time you guys see each other, is amazing how the two of you enjoy doing worksheets.   Gamila you and Samantha are starting to play better however you guys are still young and it does not always works great.

Las mamis had fun baking cooking eating and sewing what can I say I always have fun around Bonnie, we tried to be productive not just sit down and chit chat.

Baby we recieved your Moises a couple of days back but after seeing the cover it came with there was no way you would sleep in there so I went ahead and made a new cover nothing fancy but nice and soft for you.  I also catch the girls playing with it and peeking...Wow I thin I am going to have to put bells or an alarm to make sure you guys don't hurt the little man those first couple of weeks.  I know is going to be difficult at the beginning I can just imagine myself running around the house tending to the 3 of you.  But like I always believe God only gives you what he knows you can handle.

So lately everytime I open the cabinets around the house I find something like this:

I have not being able to find out which of the two of them is hiding the toys.  This little two rascals are incredible

Big girl bed

So we finally have internet our modem die on us and it took a while to get one back.  Actually not having internet at home let's you do many things.

We finally moved Gamila to her big girl bed so the baby can use her crib....really I am impress first nigh in her bed and she went down with no problem and she still there, I had a feeling it was not going to be difficult the only thing is the nap but I think she would learn it.  She loved her bed and was so excited as well as Samia.

I was also able to finish my first crochet blanket...the truth is that I love crocheting is so relaxing and you can get hook on it...dangerous stuff, there are plenty of faults on it specially the sides they looked so crooked it was scary so Abula told me to add a ruffle like crochet well you tube is an excellent inspiration seriously you can learn anything in there.  I can not wait to have the baby wrap around this blanket.

Like I mention before I bought a green leather chair I was not sure about it but after decorating its surroundings,  we have made a very nice cozy corner in our room...I even made an ottoman again from one of my Indian purses I just love to put my feet up high when I sit down.  I was never like that but after sitting in the recliner to watch TV for some reasons I have gotten used to it...nenas and you love to sit in the ottoman when I am sitting in my chair or baba is.  I also made this silhouettes of las nenas they were so easy to make and very very inexpensive.  We just love this little corner in our room, I think is going to be very helpful once the baby is born and I have to breastfeed.  Nenas that table next to the chair has being in my family for about 20 years Abuela had it then she gave it to baba and I when we moved to SC and since then it has being with us, they hold allot of sentimental value.

Nenas I love having you guys around even with the mess this 2 little bodies can make but is so worth it.  For instance today baba went to your school Samia this month is learning about the world so they ask parents that are from different countries or have lived in different countries to come and talk and share....Samia you were beyond yourself when you saw your baba, you made sure everybody knew he was baba from Egypt.  Samiuta you made him so happy, please never change always be proud from where your parents are from and be thankful that you have the opportunity to live in a country like this one.

Samia also lately I have notice that you are very interested in talking Spanish you want to learn and learn and you are practicing I have to admit you have the cutest accent and you know you make me so happy when you say your few words in Spanish.

Gamila you are changing allot you have calm down allot you are very sweet and love to cuddle you just love to be held and kiss and love to be lovable.  I also feel you are sensing the baby would be here soon because you want to be next to me all the time..don't worry my nena there is plenty of love in mami's heart for the 3 of you.

Baby you have taken over my body I feel like I am walking with a balloon and I mean an inflatable balloon in my belly you love to move and I know the space is limited but at night you make sure I feel you couple of times.

8 weeks left and more

So nenas there are two things that are have being in my mind and everytime I am going to post about them I forget and then I remember when I am driving or doing something else..so let me say it now

- Nenas sometimes when I am doing the blog and putting pictures I always get this guilty conscious maybe I am putting more pictures of Milo or vice versa is funny is this thought that always plays tricks with my mind.

- Nenas Abuela always mentions to me that sometimes her children have teach her things when we always think is the opposite parents teach their children but that is not always the case and Samia you have showed me that is true.
In our culture or I should say the way we grew up we never said a prayer prior to eating we always thank God when we finish and in baba's family is the same. However living in the south I have notice that many families bless their food prior to eating...Samia since you started school you have started to bless your food and even baba and mami are doing it now is actually a very pretty couple of lines and it goes like this:

A B C
1 2 3
Thank you Lord for feeding me
Amen

Now that I think about it is also right to bless our food before hand and then thank God after the meal.

So needless to say it is cold I think everywhere in the country is cold. Even in Miami is cold I had to remind Nono and Abuela to bring in the orchids since it was going to be very cold the past two nights...I will remember next time I am there to take pictures of their orchids well I should say Nono's I wish I could have them as he does. I have tried several times buying them and they always die that I have really giving up for now.

Since it has being too cold here I have kept the doves inside and the girls have enjoy playing with them, although they are always outside I realize this past weekend that they enjoy being petted....even Gamila that fears every single moving objectis in love with them.

Also one of our mami's at the playgroup mention about putting water outside now that is so cold so they could see how it freezes over night..so the last couple of nights Samia has being so excited about her water experiment like she calls it.

Today one of our friends had her baby boy and it made me realize that I only have 8 weeks left..wow I can not believe it and still have so many things to do.

We have to fix the nursery I think I will start working on it next weekend, hopefully we would buy Milo her big girl bed so she can give her crib to the baby.

I want to make the nursery very simple but colorful finally some bold colors is a boy...

I also feel that I am growing by the minute this belly is so different from the girls.

As far as my crafts I finally finish same set of shoes for the three kids they are so cute whenever baby boy can wear them I will put up pictures...Inshallah.

Almost finish with my crochet blanket I think it would be a wrap tonight after las nenas go down!

Oh yesterday I went to New Orleans all by myself in the morning to do some shopping I got an awesome green leather chair for our room... I will take pictures soon as well I think is going to be a great place to sit down and breastfeed...I can say the girls are getting a kick of it!!!!! I was a bit hesitant about green but I had two very good friends telling me to go for it.....

Los Reyes Magos

Los Reyes Magos or like here in the south they say the start of Mardi Gra. ......I don't think we were very big in celebrating los reyes magos back home or when I was growing up.

Today however we went to see some friends and eat some nice Rosca and guess what Elashry family got the baby.....so like I was told by my friend Bonnie we would be making tamales....I am always up for some tamales.

Baba has being a bit sick lately he is being suffering from vertigo it all has to do with his inner ear, for some reason since we moved to Louisiana he has being suffering from terrible allergies and apparently they mess up his inner ear.  It all started back in the summer and he was able to have it under control with some medicine, but this past weekend he had a few episodes so now he is doing all kind of test.  I feel so bad for my baba, but is better to be safe and know exactly what it is.

Tomorrow I will be visiting the Dr. I can not believe 31 weeks I am hoping we can schedule the the C-section soon.  I just hope is the end of February or the first days of March I would love to have at least a week in between birthdays like Milo and me.  The same between Samia and the baby.

Yuyu has being in the house for a month now and the girls are in love with her she is very sweet, although I am not the biggest animal lover I have to admit I really enjoy having her home, she is very low maintance she is potty train so is very easy.

Nenas you guys love playing together and love giving each other hugs and kisses and the truth is that both of you look for each other although Gamila always wants to follow Samia but it figures it is her older sister.  Samia you ask allot about the baby and you are always asking me is he kicking what is he doing, do he likes it you are tickling my belly etc.  Is amazing nene how you are not in our arms yet but you have become part of the family already you are always talk about and we just can not wait to have you here.

Samia you also love dancing defiantly like mami this is how you spend most of your day this days!
