I was terrified

Nenas today I had the scared of my life. In our morning trip out to run some errands we stop at the Dollar Store, after picking up some stuff I went to. They only had one cashier go figure I had to wait for a while, ahead of of me there was a lady with a small girl, nobody behind me till a gentlemen came behind me. He looked scary or like baba and mami would call an SUV guy (we mean the Law and Order show), Samia was walking around he came towards me and said:

Man - wow your kids are gorgeous how old?

Mami - Her(pointing to Samia) 3 and 18 months.

He left but I felt uneasy even the lady in front of me gave me one of those looks that you know she is thinking the same thing I am thinking. He walks around but within distance that he can see me and I can feel him staring at the girls. Then he finally approaches us with two bags of candy, once again he starts talking and gets very close to Gamila, at this point the lady in front of us is starting to check out, and I am unloading my buggy so I grab Samia and put her inside the buggy I figure this is much safer.

While the lady is paying I whisper to her "Please wait for me" since I know I had park a bit far~~~~ while this is going on he is mumbling and talking to the lady now behind him, but he is constantly looking at the girls that even the lady behind him looks at me with a worry look.

I finally check out and the lady is waiting for me, she walks me to my car I had parked in a way that Samia's door was parallel to the store entrance so I put Samia inside the car and the lady is waiting for me on the other side by the front of the car. She can not be seen unless you get very close to the cart. While I am still locking Samia all of a sudden I hear the man talking to me and walking towards me and he is making a gesture with his bag.

I hurry up and go towards the driver seat area to put GAmila in her chair, the lady had spotted him and had her cell phone ready. WE could hear him saying "Here some sweets for the girls (even the word sweet scared me)" when he finally makes it to the car and sees the lady, he takes off immediately in a very fast pace. She keeps on following him with her eyes, and she keeps on telling me "He is looking back as he walks" When all of a sudden she sees he gets in a Black van, the scariest part was there was another man driving the van, and they were parked in the first row of parking spaces facing the store.

So Why did he walk all the way to where I was park?>>>

That lady was my angel today. After leaving the parking I drove in circles just to make sure he was not following us, I even stop in a drive thru figure if he had to wait I could tell spot the car out.

Today was an eye opener for me and the safety of the girls, I can not just feel comfortable we always have to keep our eyes open.

You know they always say to follow your gut feeling, that pain, gnawing feeling you get in the pit of your stomach are your instincts trying to tell you something! You did a great job following that, That's so scary, I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I'm leaving to Australia soon, thanks for bloggin about it I will watch my kids like a Hawk. Not that I wasn't going to but you know what I mean, it's an eye opener.

You handled that situation so well.
This post was a much needed reminder for me. Yes, in this day and age, we can't take our eyes off our children for a second-it's terrifying the stories you hear about kids being abducted while a parent turns his/her back-literally. And especially with beautiful little girls-sickos out there, who knows what they're capable of. May God protect us all.
